Amarinth has delivered two separate orders of API 610 pumps, collectively value £1.2 million, for the West Qurna-2 enlargement challenge in Iraq.

West Qurna-2, situated approximately 65 km north-west of the seaport town of Basra, is amongst the world’s largest onshore oilfields. The enlargement venture is predicted to extend the oilfield’s production capacity from the current four hundred,000 barrels oil per day (bpd) to 480,000 bpd, with a target to achieve a complete production capability of 800,000 bpd by 2025.
The first order, from Cannon Artes, was for seven super duplex API 610 OH1 pumps. The bespoke designed pumps are for a low shear utility and required specialist Plan 53B seal help methods incorporating air cooled seals and stainless-steel accumulators. All electrical items have been IECEx certified to be used in an ATEX Zone 2 hazardous area.
