Danish pump producer Svanehøj has launched its newly developed environmentally friendly Flow Control system, which automates the management of electrical cargo pumps on tankers.
The launch of the newly developed software-based management system follows a profitable test in collaboration with the Swedish shipping company Furetank on the P&C tanker Fure Ven. The 18,000 DWT vessel was built in 2019 as considered one of Furetank’s V-Series, a brand new generation of climate-smart P&C tankers.
Svanehøj’s system makes it sooner, simpler, and more environment friendly to operate electric cargo pumps. It ensures an optimal changeover between tanks and pumps in parallel, lowering the time wanted for cargo discharge by up to 20% as a result of the system will routinely function on the optimum duty level. It permits the operator to take full management of the pumps, simplifying the whole cargo discharge operation with out installing any further hardware.
เกรดวัดแรงดัน is among the many first vessels at Furetank to have electric cargo pumps put in. The company has recorded a 25% reduction in energy and gas consumption in relation to cargo discharge operations compared to vessels within the fleet that have hydraulic pumps.
